I got 21 when playing blackjack and so did the dealer. Why didn't I win?

Single Deck Blackjack is a popular twist on traditional Blackjack, also known as "European No-Hole Card" Blackjack. If you're new to this version, here's a quick overview of how it works and what makes it different.
How Single Deck Blackjack Differs from Classic Blackjack
The main difference is in the deal. In Single Deck Blackjack, the dealer receives only one card at the start of the round, rather than two.
What Happens If the Dealer Gets Blackjack
If the dealer draws a Blackjack later in the round, all player bets will lose, except for a player's own Blackjack. This applies to regular bets, double downs, and split hands.
Does This Apply to Other Versions?
Yes. The same rule also applies to Multi-Hand Blackjack.
